I do acknowledge my privilege having lighter skin than full south Asians affords me. I also acknowledge the fact that anyone remotely brown will never be accepted by the white community. My brownness means that white people do not claim me. There is no solidarity. Multiracial people often identify as the nonwhite race because that’s how we’re seen and treated.
