I love that you and your husband fast together when both of you are able to. Fellow south Asian here and as a kid I honestly did wonder why there were holidays dedicated to women fasting for their husbands but none about husbands fasting for their wives. I think what you and your husband have done is a really great way to maintain the positive parts of a tradition but make it more progressive. Thank you for sharing!
