This here says so much. Even in a moment like this, Megan was thinking about the safety of others above her own well-being. Sometimes, it feels like minority women, and in particular, Black women, are never seen as the victim of a situation even if it's clear as day that they were the victim. I hate saying this, but if Megan was white, first off I don't think Tory would've shot her. If there's any group that minority men treat with kid gloves in the US, it's white women. If he had shot her, she wouldn't have had any qualms about calling the police, because the police do protect white women. Tory would've been in jail and the charges would've been heavier if Megan was a white woman. And the saddest part of absolutely all of this is that if Megan was white, I honestly think she'd have more support from everyone, including men and women in the Black community and other minority communities. In America, white women are presumed to be innocent. Even though Megan is innocent in this situation, the world thinks she's the aggressor. Wild.
