You don’t need to explain racism to people who actually experience it. You don’t need to explain other people’s experiences to them. And the bit about the internalized racism? I’m Asian and see it a ton in my community, it’s in basically every community that isn’t white. But that junk came from somewhere. It came from white colonialism. It is perpetuated by a system that runs on Dunkin and white supremacy. This article is the epitome of the parable where Jesus talks about trying to take a speck of dust out of your brother’s eye when you have a plank sticking out of your own. Wanting to come after Jaron when you can’t even see your own racism. I know as Asians we don’t experience the same level of racism as Black Americans but I would go so far as to say that literally none of us need white people to write an article telling us why writing about our experiences as POC is actually wrong, according to your white perspective.
